Preity Zinta: Jaan-E-Mann is a bizarre movie [24,Oct,2006]

First of all, let me say that Jaan-E-Mann is one of the most bizarre movies I have ever seen.
Almost the very first scene introduces Salman Khan and Anupam Kher, who plays a short person (that's the politically correct term now). In the next 30 minutes, we get to see a Broadway musical, harem girls, singing dwarfs and a qawwali number. First-time director Shirish Kunder has thrown every visual gimmick he has ever seen into Jaan-E-Mann and the results, more often than not, jar your sensibilities.

Preity Zinta: ‘Don leads, ‘Jaan-e-Mann’ trails  [23,Oct,2006]

The opening weekend verdict was loud and clear on Friday itself. DON had fetched a good to excellent start [80%-90%], while JAAN-E-MANN, another biggie this Diwali, sent shock waves with a tepid start [25%-40%]. Those expecting the Salman-Akshay starrer to fetch a hurricane-like start were surely disappointed.

While the audience feedback to DON ranges from average to below average, JAAN-E-MANN enjoys better reports.

Preity Zinta: Salman Khan's public display of affection for Preity Zinta [23,Oct,2006]

Bollywood hunk Salman Khan reinforced his image as enfant terrible when he surprised Jaaneman co-star Preity Zinta with a public display of affection that transgressed social behavior amongst colleagues.

The incident occurred in Bombay where Preity Zinta, 32, organized a special screening of Jaaneman for over 1000 children from different institutions and school. Zinta, dressed in the same clothes as in the film Jaaneman, chaperoned, played and had herself photographed with the children.

While in KANK she is a fashion editor and is really fashionable. Here in Jaaneman you will find her very romantic, very soft and feminine. I gave her lots of knee length skirts, flowy skirts, boleros, and sandals bags, soft and flowy hair. She has a complete dreamy look.

Timeless beauty Preity Zinta has not only dared to pick the most unusual roles but has also reinvented herself time and again...

"If I’ve changed myself to suit a role, it’s because I need to look different for myself and the characters I play. My advice for people would be to reinvent yourself from within. Why didn’t Preity Zinta and you work together after Sangarsh?

After Sangarsh, Preity got into the school of Yashraj and Dharma Productions. Unfortunately, I never got admission to those schools, so we never crossed each other's path. When she decided to work with Sajid Nadiadwala, we got that chance again. Even after so many years, Preity remains the same. She is very affectionate and talkative.

While shooting for Jaan-E-Mann, Salman got into a lot of trouble. The dates went haywire and you had to put up with all of this.

Bollywood's diva Preity Zinta will be organising a special show of Jaan-e-Mann for children, who are her biggest fans.

Preity is combining her efforts with many organizations like the Make a Wish Foundation. According to Preity, Jaan-e-Mann is a child-friendly film. The actress said: "I want to screen it for kids. They love you unconditionally and they won't come to the film with preconceived notions. I want to give these children from various organizations a reason to smile."

Preityzinta : Goodness gracious preity & salman ! [19,Oct,2006]

It was perhaps one of the most touching parties thrown by a star in eons. Yesterday, actor Preity Zinta held the first peek of her film ‘Jaan-E-Mann’ for more than 1000 children from various orphanages and trusts across the city. 

Preity was at the theatre since 9.30 in the morning, rehearsing for the show that she was later going to put up for the children. The entire floor of a mall was converted into a kiddie zone with various stalls that included tattooing, hair braiding, hair colouring, drawing etc. And, food and drinks flowed too.

Meera Syal's daughter Chameli will make her acting debut in the Bollywood film Jhoom Barabar Jhoom starring film legend Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek.
