She appeared on the Bollywood scene only a few years ago and has gone on to climb the popularity charts since then.
Despite having no filmi connections or a beauty pageant crown to flaunt, Preity Zinta with her 'butter-won’t-melt-in-my-mouth' attitude, has managed to carve a niche for herself in an industry where nepotism and networking is the way to work.
CNN-IBN’s Entertainment Editor Rajeev Masand spoke to the star about her films, career, future plans and much more.

LYCRA MTV Style Awards 2006 has tied-up with the much-awaited, star-studded film JAAN-E-MANN to add more style and glamour to its already impressive line-up of stylish people at this year’s show.

So, get ready to see the ramp go up in flames, as Preity Zinta, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar will walk the ramp as a special promotion for their forthcoming film. These glittering stars and more will take centrestage on 14th October at the N.C.P.A., Mumbai.

After Farhan Akthar's Don, iTunes is promoting Jaanemann by featuring it as a key property on their world page. What's more interesting is that the album has made its debut with very positive customer ratings.

The customer feedback on the iTunes website for the soundtrack of Jaanemann is simply amazing. Bollywood is getting faster by the day and the fact can be corroborated with customer reviews on iTunes that say, "Jaaneman is amazing. ‘Jaanemann’ is a love story spanning a certain amount of time, it starts off in college and then moves to New York city. I can’t talk about it because if I talk I’ll give out the script, and my producer who is outside, will kill me (laughs). So all I can say is, it’s a very happy film – an out-and-out

Remind her about the stories circulating in the media that she isn’t signing movies because she’s getting married, and a troubled frown creases her milky forehead. “For the zillionth time, I’m not getting married,”

She discarded the bubbly tag long ago and now, after a mature performance in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Preity Zinta wants everyone else to do that too. The actor spoke to HT City from London, where she is shooting for Shaad Ali’s Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, which also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Bobby Deol and Lara Dutta.

Mumbai, Sep 1 (IANS) The buzz is that Sajid Nadiadwala's big budget, star studded "Jaan-E-Mann" will release in more than 250 screens in just Mumbai, more than "Krrish" and "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna" that had hit approximately 200-plus screens.
Set for a Diwali release, earlier set a record by fetching a never-before sum of Rs.70.4 million for the distribution rights for Mumbai territory.

The audience got to see the first glimpse of Jaan-e-mann on August 20th, when the trailers hit the airwaves. Sajid has specially shot an extravagant trailer for Jaan-e-man, The Producer has shot the state of the art trailer using high tech Motion Control Camera. The trailer was shot in Chennai with A.R.Rehman Musicians. And the cost of this trailer alone is a whopping Rs 40 lakhs.

The effervescent Preity Zinta is set to surprise fans with her cold woman act in Karan Johar's "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna" (KANK). I never like myself on screen. But I must say KANK has changed my look and my personality completely. I play this cold woman, which wasn't easy for a warm person like me to do. I have just a few expressions to give away. And I think I have done them well," Preity told IANS in an interview.

Just as she has made it through life and death scenes on the big screen, Bollywood star Preity Zinta has survived terrifying experiences in real life, testifying against a mafia don and surviving the Indian Ocean tsunami.Throughout it all, the 31-year-old actress has managed to keep the dimpled, chatty girl-next-door image that she rode to fame.
But it has been eight years since Zinta's debut in "Dil Se," or "From the Heart," and now she wants to erase the image that has made her famous before her characters become caricatures.

We recently came across some photographs of Preity Zinta doing some heavy duty stunts. Upon further enquiry it was discovered that the actress was shooting a commercial for a shampoo brand she endorses. The ad was being shot in Bangkok, where she was for three days.Preity fans sure will see her in a whole new avatar. She was seen dressed in a silver body suit. She plays a warrior woman and will do a lot of action sequences. Directed by Atipat Kamolpaet, the entire ad was shot in front of a blue screen.

Popular Bollywood actress Preity Zinta is excited about promoting her yet-to-be released Hindi movie "Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna'' (Never Say Goodbye) at the Cannes film festival later this month, a news report said Friday.
Zinta will accompany producer-director Karan Johar to the festival, she told The Times of India in an interview.
Though not an official entry at the festival, the movie is expected to be shown to select distributors and critics for promotion ahead of its release in India and abroad.
